As it aims to carry out, Kanazawa University has been developing of "Kanazawa University brand" human resources who actively fulfill its mission in the international community, becomes a core leader in a knowledge-based society, and can always face the difficulties of the field not be afraid. And we have established the "Kanazawa University <Global> Standard" (KUGS), which concretely represent this image of human resources with five specific abilities.
In order to enable students to acquire these five abilities by their graduation, a systematic curriculum based on KUGS such as "Global Standard (GS) subjects" are provided at the International Institute of Core Education.
In addition, Kanazawa University is developing various advanced educational projects. For example, we are working to deepen and enhance active learning and to realize supportfull environment. To aim of it, suitable educational method and quantitative learning evaluation with the aim of building a curriculum that fosters student independence has been also installed.
In the "Super Global University Project (SGU) Project", study abroad programs are provided that all students can improve their skills for international communication and negotiating, as well as cultivate the ability to take off to the world as global human resources. Furthermore, as the quarter system has been installed, students can easily take on the challenge of studying abroad.

Kanazawa University is a world-leading international education and research base. Nano Life Science Institute (NanoLSI), Kanazawa University is a research center established in 2017 as part of the World Premier International Research Center Initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The objective of this initiative is to form world-tier research centers. The Kanazawa University Cancer Research Institute (KU-CRI) bears the distinction of being the only institute solely focused on cancer research amongst the Research Institutes and Centers of Japan National Universities.
Unique Faculty
A new faculty entitled “College of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary sciences” is to be established. In this faculty, Kanazawa University provides a curriculum which you can study several fields such as humanities, social and science.
