Destacados

Akita Prefecture is located in northern Honshu on the Sea of Japan. It offers a rich natural environment including the Shirakami mountain range (a World Heritage site), Lake Tazawa (the deepest lake in Japan), Hachimantai, and Oga Peninsula, where the four seasons can be distinctly experienced and enjoyed. Akita's seasonal festivities include the Sakura(cherry blossom) festivals in spring, Kanto festival (one of the three great Tohoku festivals) in summer, viewing fall foliage in autumn, and a variety of snow sports (skiing, snowboarding, etc.) in winter.

The university's campus is located in Akita City with a population of 320,000. It is the capital of Akita Prefecture, and is also the prefecture's political and economic center. It is convenient in terms of transportation and has a lower cost of living than Tokyo. Students find the city a very suitable environment for daily life.
